"Time flies when you're having fun" people always say! I've been in Finland for a month already! You really can say that I'm settled right now ;-). Our hallway of 12 rooms are filled with people. We have 3 Korean girls, 3 German boys, 1 German girl, 2 French girls, 1 girl from Peru and 1 girl from Spain. We have had like a couple of parties in the (shared) kitchen, so we're starting to get to know each other well. The group is a bit divided, because some people go to the University of Turku, some go to the University of Applied sciences in Turku and only the German girl and me are going to the Abo Akademi in Turku. In the first week of September school started again. I am going to follow 6 courses till the end of December. In the first period (till the end of October) I have two courses, ‘Knowledge management’ and ‘Political institutions in the EU’. I am not going to explain the whole course, but what’s different with my home university is that the second course isn’t starting yet. It starts in the first week of October and takes three or four weeks. So, this month I have only two classes a week. Unfortunately, my fifth and sixth courses are self-study courses. That means that we had to contact the teacher what he really wanted from us and then we have to do it ourselves. These courses are ‘Project Management’ and ‘Policy processes in the EU’. My friend Rik and I have got the assignment to build our own project with the first course. We have to read literature to learn how to set up a project and then we can apply it on a case. For the second self-study course I also have to read a lot of literature and then I have to write an essay of approximately 15 pages about ‘the influences lobby groups have in the process of making policy in the EU’. Because of the startup of the self-study courses and the other two courses this period, my agenda is kind of full! At least, besides studying there are enough other things to do. Don’t forget about the parties, every now and then going on a trip, and the normal routine activities like the household activities. In the second period I have two courses, namely ‘Change management’ and ‘International Business, a European perspective’. I don’t know a lot about these courses yet ;-) “Because that is for later care!” We have a trip planned to Lapland in November and we’re figuring out when and how we can visit the beautiful cities Stockholm and Tallinn! This is it for now, c ya lataaaah!

    Robin Verël:

It looks like you spend more time on parties and trips than on your schoolwork

Apparently a part of my message is gone. I just wanted to say that it's good to read that you chose interesting courses! Good luck! C ya Lataaaah
