The camping is kind of in the middle of nowhere and there only are a couple of small villages in the area. The camping has around ten small cabins and further up the hill some bigger cottages. You can see the cabins in the pictures below. We arrived around five. We had no food and no drink, so we had to find a supermarket. First, the owner of the camping gave us an idea to go to a village where we could find a supermarket, but then we had to take a ferry. We thought it would take too long and we tried to find one another way.
Using internet we found a place where could be a supermarket. When we were almost there we saw a sign that said the supermarket is closed already, so we had to turn around. The second idea was to find a café or restaurant, because we had to eat something ;-P. We biked to a couple of places, but we concluded that the season was kind of over and almost everything was closed. After we had biked more or less 40 kilometers that day, we went to the ferry and try to find something on one of the other Islands. In the meantime it was 7 o’clock in the evening. With a bicycle the ferry was free and it took like half an hour to go to an Island called Föglö. Finally we ended up at a Pub on the Island. It was the only café that wasn’t closed. But it turned out that this Pub has delicious pizzas! We were glad we finally found some food and we took the ferry back to the camping.
The next day we had to find a supermarket again, because we needed drinks and food for the rest of the day. The owner of the camping was very friendly. He had to do some shopping too and brought us to a supermarket with his car. After the shopping we had the afternoon to see more of the Islands. We went again to Föglö to explore some more. Later in the afternoon we went back to the camping. There was a lake nearby and the owner of the camping has a couple of boats we could borrow. So we were able to sail a bit over the lake, it was pretty nice! We ended the Sunday with a small barbecue. We had bought a few sausages and we had a small one-time-use barbecue. After all the weekend was really nice. We were able to see a lot of the Island and we experienced some adventures. It still was kind of exhausted, because we had to bike a lot. Almost 100 kilometers in two and a half days. On Monday we walked through the city Mariehamn and drunk some coffee. Later in the afternoon we took the ferry back to Turku. It was a nice weekend :-)
